Born in the shadow of Alderley Edge, almost all of Alan Garner’s books have a strong Cheshire location. The Edge itself features in a number of them, including The Weirdstone of Brisingamen and The Moon of Gomrath.
The best place to start for more information is The Unofficial Alan Garner Website, which has a brief biography and list of works, as well as links to a number of articles and interviews.
The Weirdstone of Brisingamen has never been out of print since it's original publication in 1960. See the fiftieth anniversary Weirdtone site for more information. There's a special exhibition to commemorate this milestone at Chester's Grosvenor Museum.
... and Alan Garner himself is giving a talk about the Legend of Alderley as part of this year's Chester Literature Festival.
